Introduction to Psychodramatic Bodywork®

March 26-27, 2010

Friday 9:00 a.m. to Saturday 5 p.m.

Rebecca Walters, MS LMHC LCAT TEP

Location: Ulster County, NY
(overnight accommodations are available)
~Space is limited...register early to avoid being closed out~

This Introductory Workshop is designed to meet the needs of participants who have experienced cathartic releasework as students of HVPI*. Participants will be exposed to a range of skills, from emotional first aid to deep cathartic release facilitation. There will be both didactic presentations and experiential learning. Experienced facilitators will assist Rebecca in the small-group experiential component. This training will prepare participants to attend the Intermediate workshop with Susan Aaron this July 16, 17 and 18, 2010.

Introductory Level Workshop
The Introductory Level workshop focuses on . . .
• Understanding, witnessing and experiencing the emotional release of anger, sadness and fear.
• Providing facilitated opportunities to experience the release of each emotion safely.
• Witnessing the full range of anger, sadness and fear, from barely expressed to fully released.
• Learning where the body holds each of these emotions when they are "unexpressed."
• Learning and practicing guidelines for Safe Touch.
• Increasing one’s comfort level in the use of Safe Touch.
• Learning and practicing the 6 aspects of closure theory.
Deep personal healing does occur because it’s an experiential workshop but it is not a therapy group. Participants will need significant support at various times during and after the workshop to complete and integrate what was begun in the workshops. Participants will be asked to sign a statement attesting to having therapeutic resources in place.

Workshop fee is $300. Early Registration fee, if paid by check by Feb 26 is $275 ($250 for current HVPI Core students)
